Melbourne does not have a specific wet season – it can rain at any time of the year. Sports and other outdoor activities are possible at all times of the year.
There is a reputation for rain in the city, which is statistically unfounded as Melbourne receives only 50 percent of the average rainfall of either Brisbane or Sydney. Perhaps it can sometimes be a little unpredictable, however, it is a comfortable environment to be in whatever the season.
